It Started With One Client
For Chris and Shannon Wood, Falcon and the surrounding community have always been home.
Their story began in the fourth grade at Peyton School. They grew up together, graduated together, and married in 1999. Not long after, they built their first home in Falcon right behind Safeway, back when their construction photos showed little more than a bare foundation and the Safeway in the background.
In 2005, Chris and Shannon took another leap together and opened Pikes Peak Insurance Agency with just one client. Today that one policy has grown into almost 3,000, but the heart of the agency has stayed the same: family, relationships, and taking care of the people in the community they call home.
Chris and Shannon have four children, Brian, Bailee, Kilee and Jaxon, and family is still a big part of Pikes Peak Insurance. Kilee and Jaxon now work alongside their parents at the agency. Brian lives in Grand Junction with his wife, while Bailee and Kilee give back to the community by coaching the Falcon Bombers. And when Chris isn't at the office, there's a good chance you'll find him on a football field, helping Jaxon coach.
In August 2020, Pikes Peak Insurance moved into the State Bank Building on McLaughlin Road, just minutes from the neighborhood where Chris and Shannon still live today.
And maybe that's what makes Pikes Peak Insurance a little different.
