The Wood Family. We always have to tell people we are a tree not a forest because people tend to call us The Woods family. Chris Wood and Shannon Wood met in 4th grade at Peyton School and graduated together. We were married June 26, 1999. We built our first home right behind Safeway. We have pictures of just our foundation with Safeway in the background!
Our oldest son Brian lives with his wife Liz in Fruita, CO with their two fur babies and love the opportunities they have to run, hike and ride bikes. They are very happy to finally call Colorado their home. Kilee Jo was born in July of 2003. Our last one was born August of 2007. Jaxon is the reason we purchased our home in Meridian Ranch in 2007 and we have been here ever since. We ran out of space in our first house – not a bad problem to have 😊. We have made so many great friends, neighbors and memories here. We are very proud of her. Kilee has love for basketball and coach the Falcon Bombers Girls Basketball Team. Kilee graduated from Northeastern Junior College and played basketball during her time there. She is currently pursuing a degree in early childhood education at UCCS. Jaxon attends Falcon High School and plays for Falcon Football and loves his choir classes.
Shannon graduated from CU the Springs in 2000 and Chris Wood started our insurance agency, Pikes Peak Insurance Agency in 2005. We went from 1 client then to now over 2000! We are overwhelmed and overjoyed with the success we have had and so happy that we moved our office to Falcon in the State Bank Building in August of 2020. Along with our 8 employees, we are super ecstatic about this move. Falcon is our home. Chris Wood is the Varsity Head Coach for the Falcon Girls Basketball team and has been for 3 years. He had the pleasure of coaching both of our daughters. However, he has been coaching for several years. He started with a club basketball team called Storm and then coached the Falcon Bombers, Falcon Primetime and then got his first paying job at Falcon Middle School for girls basketball and now is at the High School. Coaching is what Chris Wood was born to do. Shannon works 1 day a week at Palmer Chiropractic in Falcon and has been there almost 5 years. Shannon maintains our home, 5 dogs and runs around to watch basketball and football and be a team mom. That is Shannon's passion.
Our pets include JJ a Chihuahua, Melanee is an Australian Shepherd, Vador is a Mini Australian Shepherd and our latest and greatest is a Great Dane named Stormee. Sadly we just lost a family member – Sasha – she was a Picachi – ½ Pekinhese ½ Chuhuahua (only 6 lbs). That was a hard loss for our family. She had been with since our oldest was in middle school. If our family had a motto to live by it would definitely be “Laughter is the Best Policy”. Chris Wood and the kids can make anyone laugh. The kids are very talented at piano, ukulele, singing, coaching and entertaining.
